After a PhD of Neurosciences at the University of Angers and a post-doctoral internship at the Department of Neurobiology (CNRS, Marseille), Rym Benkhalifa joined the Laboratory of Venom and Therapeutical Molecules of the Institut Pasteur (IPT) where she is, actually, head of a research team. Her areas of interest are related to ion channels involvement in degenerative diseases and their interaction with natural peptides and toxins as therapeutic modulators, producing several national and international scientific publications and communications. She obtained an international certification in Good Practice of Animal Experimentation and a certification in Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington. She is member of the IPT’s Biomedical Ethics Committee, in which she led the drafting and implementing the dual-use Code of Conduct, concomitantly to organizing biosafety and biosecurity workshops. She is also responsible for institutional and international projects in Biosafety and Biological Risk Management. Rym Benkhalifa also represents the Institut Pasteur on CBRN national team.
